When Karen Kaye-Beall had trouble finding help answering questions about her future as the mother of two autistic children, she didn’t give up. Rather, she started an organization that’s benefited her as well as countless others. Karen Kaye-Beall in her home office with her adopted daughter Amelia, left, and her biological son Tyler, right. Both Amelia and Tyler were diagnosed with autism at a young age.

The University of Maryland has been working to improve study areas on campus. Knight Hall and the Terrapin Commons in McKeldin Library are two places where students study and embrace these new benefits. Junior Connie Kinkead studies on the second floor of McKeldin Library in between classes.

On Thursday nights, the University of Maryland’s Club Bowling Team practices in TerpZone; but this isn’t just some rag tag team… they have their own coach, Tom McKee. McKee however; doesn’t only coach his team, he’s willing to help anyone who wants to learn.

Do Good Challenge
By: Brittany Waters Do Good Challenge In February during the Maryland vs. Carolina basketball game, Kevin Bacon challenged students to use social media to make social change. They accepted the challenge by fundraising, volunteering and raising awareness for charity.

Kevin Bacon takes questions from reporters at University of Maryland. In February he challenged students to participate in the Do Good charity challenge and he was here this week to judge the final round of the competition.
Shuttle

A candlelight vigil was held Monday April 2 in front of Mckeldin Library in honor of Trayvon Martin’s death. A couple dozen students stood in silence and reflected on what the teen’s killing means for justice in America.

The popular Maryland eatery is in a financial pickle that DaSean Preacher and his colleagues blame on previous Co-op management teams. The current staff have introduced sweeping measures to try to keep the Co-op alive.

The University of Maryland baseball team has a brand new addition. For the first time ever the team has welcomed a group of seventeen cheerleaders known as Diamond Girls to the Bob ‘Turtle’ Smith Stadium.
